Family Connects Oregon

Tuesday, Jun. 25 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm

Meeting Topic: Oregon has the unprecedented opportunity to connect every family with a newborn to a healthier future through Family Connects Oregon. We need your help to make it a reality. Join Dr. Benjamin Hoffman in learning more about Family Connects Oregon and how hospital partnership plays a critical role in the program’s success.

What is Family Connects Oregon? Family Connects Oregon is an evidence-based universally offered home visiting program for families with newborns that launched in Oregon in 2021. A Registered Nurse provides between one and three home visits beginning at about three weeks of age to assess newborn and birthing parent physical, mental and emotional health, support and respond to immediate family needs, and connect families with local community services and resources. It is currently available to residents in Malheur, Jefferson, Crook, Deschutes, Linn, Benton, Lincoln, and Washington counties with statewide expansion planned over time. Additional details can be found in the Family Connects Oregon Hospital letter.

The webinar will include:
• Family Connects: what is it, what is the evidence, and why it matters
• Family Connects Oregon implementation
• How hospitals can partner with Family Connects Oregon so all families with newborns are offered services
• Highlights of current hospital partnerships in Oregon
